Day 3 - Disabled United - How you can help

Community support is growing for the coming protest. There is a lot to do and you can help.

Posters

People are putting A4 posters up around the city to promote the protest.

Download copies here to print. Then, find a shop, cafe, school, workplace, pub, community centre, club, union, farmers group, community group or church and ask them to pin it on their noticeboard or tape it to their window. Ninety percent are saying yes. We have a lot of support, and it's growing.

Mailing List

An email mailing list has been set up for the public using Google Groups. You can sign up to receive short updates on upcoming protests and other efforts to defend our funding support. The list is private, so no one can see your details. The leaders will send messages only, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Please share articles from the newsletter and this website on social media, your group's mailing lists, and anything else you can think of.

Marshals

Volunteer marshalls are needed to help keep people safe during the event. Contact us if you can help. You need to bring and wear a yellow safety vest.

Speakers

Organisations that support the protest's demands are welcome to provide speakers at the protest. Speeches need to be short and snappy. A hand megaphone will be available for you to use. We are trying to get a sign interpreter for the speaker from the deaf community.

Meeting After

After the protest, the plan is to go to the Mainland Cafe, next to WorkBridge on Kelvin St where we can all sit down, have a cuppa and discuss what to do next.
