In response to the shocking announcement yesterday by the Ministry of Disabled People, a small group of Invercargill disabled people affected by the cuts got together by phone to decide what to do.
Actions agreed on
- We are going to fight this till we win
- A protest date was set for Thursday, 28 March, at 10am outside the Minister of Disability Issues' electoral office at 22 Kelvin St, Invercargill.
- Urgent messages were sent out to our friends to gather support.
- The Disabled United website was established.
- Create a poster in PDF format that can go up on noticeboards around the city.
- Every meeting and opportunity between now and March 28 will be used to build support and participation
