Letter to Simmonds

Today Carers NZ wrote to Minister Penny Simmonds encouraging her to release Carer Support funding to disability family carers as a personal budget. We meet with Whaikaha next week to discuss this important direction - all of the work has been done for this, it would allow you to use your Carer Support to make respite purchases as you see fit, and it would remove a lot of the compliance and human resource costs of administering CS for government. We know you want this. We will keep you posted.
